Over the span of two days, we planned a tablescape with catering and an array of installations for the wedding exhibition curated by Cha Jinyeob and Lee Byungyeob.
Their objective was to delve into the profound meaning of marriage and challenge the conventions of traditional wedding ceremonies. In pursuit of this unique vision, they chose to replace the notion of a marriage 'ceremony' with a marriage 'exhibition.' Within this innovative framework, the rooms were transformed into immersive spaces filled with poems, films, and various objects that collectively symbolized the diverse interpretations of love from individuals.
In wholehearted support of their fresh perspective on the institution of marriage and their environmental consciousness, we embarked on the creation of a diverse range of furniture pieces. These pieces were crafted using reclaimed wooden plates sourced from various locations and meticulously bonded together with vibrant yellow thread. To further enhance the aesthetics and sustainability of these pieces, we incorporated marble plates, utilizing offcuts from a local marble factory.
Adding a heartfelt and personal touch to the event, the couple decided to offer specially designed bracelets to each visitor as they arrived at their wedding. It was a touching gesture as the couple greeted each guest, placing these bracelets on their wrists, symbolizing the union of their hearts and their deep appreciation for the presence of their loved ones on this important day. This gesture beautifully encapsulated their unique approach to celebrating marriage and the warmth they extended to all who attended.
