The second instalment of DADADA Collective's "Long Table" series, named "< Emoji Dinner >," brought a unique twist to the table. This time, we collaborated with the artist Hongji (@hongjissi), known for her intricate work with emojis, transforming them into detailed artworks.
In the dining hall, Hongji's creative journey was vividly portrayed through a screen installation that she specially designed. The installation allowed diners to visually trace her artistic process, adding an element of joy as they sought to identify individual emojis within the entire painting, all meticulously drawn using emojis.
As the event unfolded, Hongji offered valuable insights into her artistic process, shedding light on the intricacies of her work. Simultaneously, attendees indulged in dishes inspired by her artworks, further immersing themselves in a multi-sensory experience. Here, art and art-inspired cuisine became catalysts for creative conversations, inviting guests to engage not just their taste buds, but all their senses, in a space where the boundaries between the two realms blurred, fostering an atmosphere of artistic immersion and dialogue.
